Each Guided Search form is based on content and provides convenient tools for refining search content and field boxes to focus your search.
Guided Search opens on the “Search Portfolio” forms. Select the State Information tab at the top of the page to access the “Search State Information” form.
Use easy content selection options on the Guided “Search State Information” form to expand or focus your search. Select State Legislation Digest or Surveys of State Law by Topic, or both, to search. Scroll the “State” drop down menu and select one or multiple states to focus your search.
Type words, phrases and search operators as needed in the “Search words within State(s)” box.
Optionally use either “Limit by date” tool to add a date range to your search.
Select Search Tips at the bottom of the form to display a complete list of available Boolean and proximity search operators and tips on their use. Select the question mark next to any feature for instant help with that feature.
